Meet Our Attorneys

Two Naperville-raised trial lawyers who learned the insurance industry's playbook from the inside — and now put that knowledge to work for injured people.

Founding Attorney / Trial Lawyer

Jason A. Marker

Jason's love for the legal field began when he was a child. His grandfather fought his entire life to keep a piece of property the government was trying to take — and watching that battle showed Jason, early on, just how important a good attorney is.

While clerking during law school, he found that he enjoyed the medical aspects behind injuries and helping people through the hardships of being hurt. After working for a larger Chicago firm, he opened his own practice to do injury law differently — with, in his words, "the utmost integrity and honesty… superior communication, compassion, but also aggressively pushing for maximum outcomes."

What sets Jason apart: coming out of law school, he initially defended insurance companies in injury cases.

"Because of my background, I have a unique ability to understand how insurance carriers view these cases and to communicate with them in a manner that delivers positive outcomes." — Jason A. Marker

Jason grew up in Naperville and graduated from Naperville Central High School. More than 25 years later, he is still fighting for injured people in the community he calls home — AV Preeminent rated and named to Illinois Super Lawyers for 10+ consecutive years.

Dan McLean, trial lawyer at Marker Law
Trial Lawyer

Dan McLean

Dan was born and raised in Naperville and graduated from Waubonsie Valley High School before attending law school at Northern Illinois University. He clerked for two years with the Collins Law Firm in Naperville, then spent his early career at a Rosemont firm advocating for clients injured in car accidents, animal attacks, and premises liability cases.

From there, Dan joined a larger Chicago firm focused on medical malpractice and nursing home abuse and neglect litigation, where he managed complex cases across Illinois and helped recover millions of dollars for injured clients and their families.

Dan later worked as in-house corporate counsel in health insurance subrogation — leaving him, as he puts it, "well versed in the health insurance company's playbook." He now uses that insider knowledge to minimize subrogation interests and maximize what his clients actually take home.

With nearly 20 years litigating claims throughout Illinois — hundreds of mediations and thousands of depositions — Dan brings deep courtroom experience to every Marker Law case. He lives in Geneva, Illinois with his wife and two children.
